On Saturday we drove down to Capitol Reef National Park. I had heard you can pick your own fruit in these beautiful orchards last year and I told my self we were going to do it this year. I guess the story behind these orchards is this: When the pioneers came to Utah some went down and settled what is now known as Capital Reef. Being the good pioneers they were they planted crops and orchards. Then at some point they had to leave(I think it is when they made it a Nat. Park-I'm not sure on that). Now the government still pays to have the orchards kept up, and they are opened to the public.
The kids had a blast picking and eating the apples. I don't really know what kind of apples they are, but they are good! I plan on making apple sauce, dehydrating apple rings, and making some fruit leather. I am learning how to bottle food this fall. I'll let you know how that goes:)

And when did you become a PROFESSIONAL photographer?!? Bootsie?!! Those pics of the apple orchard are so cute, they could be in a magazine! Way to go!! I miss you guys... and i miss talking to you. remember how we use to talk at least once a week?? Those were the good ol' days... my life is a little crazy these days! You guys need to come down and meet our little twinners. They are so dang cute

We were there in May this year and saw all the orchards, so great it's free to pick! Luckily I have an apple tree in this new backyard and am so excited to can them and make applesauce for the first time this year too! Way cute picts of your family.
