Camping at Yankee Meadows!

This Labor Day Chris and Taryn invited us to go camping. They have some pretty nice toys and a new camping trailer that made it very enjoyable to camp. The new trailer even has a bathroom in it-need I say more?! We were a little worried because the forecast called for rain...everyday. And even though it did rain-HARD we all had a great time!

On Friday when we got up there we set up camp and The Nelsen's made dinner- dutch oven potatoes and marinated chicken-yum yum! Then we sat around the fire and roasted smore's. Going to bed was not as nightmarish as I thought it would be. We turned on a movie(yes they have a TV too) and the kids fell asleep. On Saturday Chris's brother and nephew came up to go fishing with us. We rode the 4-wheelers and Ranger over to the lake and had a great time fishing. I am not going to give a count this time because I don't want to embarrass Trav, but I'll give you a hint of how many his pole pulled in-nada:)

(Aunt Taryn was so great with the kids- taking them on rides whenever they wanted to!)

We got back and we just finishing up lunch when there was another huge downpour. The kids didn't seem to even mind it one bit. They painted rocks and but foam cut out stickers all over everything. We ended up getting them in the trailer to watch a movie so they could warm up a bit. After the rain we made some tin foil dinners, scones, watermelon, and corn. I think it is so funny how good everything tastes in the mountains. It was goood. We finished off dinner with some peach cobbler listening to the BYU game(and no we are not BYU fans). Our battery died in of van and we are grateful to some prepared campers and the next camp site who had a set of jumper cables:)

Sunday we just took it easy around camp. I love this beautiful world! We are so blessed.

We returned home Sunday evening-exhausted and stinky. Thanks Chris and Taryn for making camping so fun and enjoyable.
