Vacation Time!

This post might be a little boring because there are no pic's, but I am going to write it anyways. This last weekend was the first weekend in what seems like forever we went on a little vacation. With Trav's basketball season at an end and the Baseball season starting, this was our chance to get away. If you know Trav you won't be surprised to find out that we went to Cedar City to watch 2A basketball state championship games. I was up for anything that we could all do together. Taryn and Chris( trav's sis and bro-in-law) were nice enough to take our crazy family in for the weekend-Thanks! It was so fun to have Trav just to ourselves and not have to share him with the basketball boys. We do hope that next year the team will be playing in the championship games though.
On Saturday Taryn, Madi, Mal, and I went to Vegas to Travs cousins bridal shower. It was so much fun. I love to spend time with Travs family. They are all so amazing and Malarie just goes nuts for them. I think my kids are so lucky to have so many people that just love them so much.
We can't wait until the 26th when we get to go down to Vegas again for the wedding. Malarie might be the most excited because she gets to be a flower girl with her best cousin Lillie.
Today was back to reality and that is always hard! My kids were just going nuts because they had to be home with just boring old Mom. I am sure you have all had days like this! The thing is I don't blame them because I want to still be on vacation too!

TOO BIG TOO FAST!

When Madi smiles she smiles all the way from her toes!

Madilyn is 11 weeks old now and is just getting too big too fast! I think with Malarie I loved seeing her get bigger and learning new things that I just loved seeing her grow up. With Mason I was just trying to keep up with Mal and I was looking forward to the day when they could play together. Now with Madi I realize how FAST it goes and I want to just stop time.
I just went to her 2 week check up(a little late but they kept rescheduling me) and she weight 11 lbs. even and was 23 in. long! Crazy! I love just holding her and breathing her in. I know that sounds funny but she just smells so good!
Madi has been such a good baby. Last night she slept through the night and this morning I finally woke her up at 8:45 so I could feed her. My favorite thing that she is doing right now is, when she smiles and her binky is in and right before it falls out she sucks really fast and pulls it right back in.
She loves her big sister and her big brother and like me they can't get enough of her! I love seeing my older kids be sweet with the baby when I don't prompt them to. Mason will see her binky fall out an run over to put it back in for her. He is so soft and gentle with her. He loves to hold her and hive her sweet kisses on her head. Malarie tells me at least everyday, "I just love having a baby sister in our house." and to that I reply, " and she just loves having a big sister." Malarie will do anything for Madi, run and get diapers, spit up rags, binkis, and she loves to babysit her while I get in the shower. She is so good with her. Malaries favorite thing to do is getting Madi to smile and she is very good at it.
This morning after I got done feeding Madi Mason and Malarie climbed in my bed and all four of us just snuggled. Once Madi woke up we just oohed and ahhed over her. I think we almost got a giggle out of her she was smiling so big. I was hoping Trav would come home early and be able to catch it on camera it was just so awesome. I love little moments in my life like that one this morning. I love my kids and I love being their mom. I am really so blessed!
Look at her dimples... I love them!
Can you see hur chubs? So cute

Valentines Day

On Valentines Day Trav let me sleep in (thank you what a great gift!) and he got the kids bathed. When they were in the shower I got up and tried to get breakfast all ready for them to surprise them but they were a little faster than me. And right before we ate the kids had a wonderful surprise...Grandma and Grandpa! And they came baring gifts. Mal and Mason just love when Grandma and Grandpa come over! After they left we got to dig in. I made heart shaped french toast and Malarie thought that was fun, I thought about making heart shaped pancakes but I am not that talented :) After we cleaned up breakfast we let the kids open their cards from us and their presents that cupid left for them. Malarie went nuts over her High School Musical cheer dress up and wig. I think she is a little young to like a show like that but she loves the music and dancing. I justify her watching it because when I was little I was watching Dirty Dancing and Grease- Ii think the story line in the Disney movie is a little cleaner...just a little:) Mason got a bat and ball, I thought he would love it but, not so much. Oh well you win some and lose some. We spent the rest of the day playing together and having fun. At night we got a baby sitter and Trav and I got to go out and he let me pick. So where do you think we went? Chinese, of course! It was delicious. We rented some movies and went home. I love Valentines Day and I sometimes forget how much I love it. It was an awesome day. I hope you all had as much fun as we did.

Valentine Party

On Thursday my friend Katie had our young mothers group over to her house for a Valentine party. It was so much fun for the kids and for us moms. Katie had the house decorated so cute. The kids played with her slide and trampoline. They thought that it was great to have a slide in the house! Mason was so cute, he did have a little hard time getting the concept to wait his turn but he eventually figured it out.

Katie had a table cloth and the kids ate their lunches on it like a picnic. Then the kids played a game-pin the heart on the bulls eye. Malarie wasn't pleased with where her heart was when she took off the blind fold. Mason was just happy to have a turn.

Walker, Ryker, Quinn, Sadi, Bayden, Hali, Malarie, Mason

After the game the kids got to hit the pinata that Katie had made by herself with a brown grocery bag, color tissue paper, and some glue. How crafty:) Malarie her first swing and the pinata fell to the floor but didn't open. So Katie held it while the kids took more and more swings. she was brave the rest of us moms were a little too scared of the bat to hold it. Walker (the biggest little boy in the pic's) had a swing that was a little too close to Katie and we hung up the pinata again. Mason was so cute swinging the bat. I just love him. The bag finally broke and the kids all got a bag of candy and toys.

After that the kids made Valentines for Grandmas and Grandpas. The we walked across the street and mail the Valentines. The kids loved that! And with that it was a day.

Thanks Katie for planing such a fun party! I love getting out of the house and talking to other moms. What a great day!

Cupcakes!!!

Last week we had Hali and Ryker over for a play date. I thought, "I am going to do something fun with these kids. I think we'll make cupcakes." I told this kids and they were all excited and they came in the kitchen and lined up to help when I realized I only have one egg... so I called my neighbor and borrowed two. Then we get them mixed and ready to pour into the paper rings... Oh I only have twelve, so we used some spray for the other pan. I had a good idea and let the kids choose what color of cupcakes they wanted to make. Hali wanted blue, Malarie wanted pink, Ryker wanted yellow, and Mason got green (poor boy slept through the fun). I put a drop of food coloring in each cup and gave them each a toothpick to stir in a cool design. After baking them I got ready to make the frosting and...I am out of powdered sugar! At this point I was just like bring it on! I waited for Trav to get done with school and bribed him into running to the store to buy some for us before BBall started-Thanks Trav such a good hubbies! Then I made the frosting and aging we made four colors. Then the kids frosted the cupcakes and got to put on as many sprinkles that would stick to their cupcakes. It was a fun day and the kids loved being involved. I recommend trying it but before you do make sure you have everything for it :)

A Blessed Day

Yesterday was one of those special days that I will always remember. I love the blessing day for a few reasons. One, is the actual blessing. It is so amazing to have all of the ones we love come and stand in the circle holding our baby girl while Travis blesses our child. I am sure I am not the only one that sheds tears. It was such a wonderful blessing. The spirit was so strong. Travis gave her such great counsel and blessed her with amazing things. I know this little Madi will be such a strong influence in our life as she grows.

Two, it was so fun to see all of our family and friends. After the blessing everyone came to our house for some good food. Thanks Cami, Stan, Chanda, Mom, and Aunt Joyce for helping get everything going. I got home from the church and everything was taken care of. I didn't do a thing! It was so nice to be able to visit with everyone and not have to worry about the kitchen. Man I was born into an awesome family! Some of our family and friends we wish we could see more often but with the distance we all live from each other it is hard to get together. We appreciated everyone driving the two plus hours to come to our little town, and for waking up so early to do so (am am really sorry that we keep having babies when we are on the 9 o'clock church schedule especially the ones of you with four kids-Sarah-. Really it was such an awesome day.

After everyone had left for the day our house got really quiet and Mal got really sad and said, "Mom, I wish everyone could just stay with us. I miss everyone. And I want to ride the nana bus." Aunt Kris is so cute with Malarie. She puts her on her lap and sings a little song. She calls it the nana bus. Malarie has already asked about the nana bus today too. We love you Aunt Kris! Mason also noticed a huge change when he woke up and everyone was gone. He just thrives in a huge crowd. He is our little social butterfly. When he noticed it was just boring old mom and dad he started asking for everyone by the names he could say. I think he was confussed to where they had all gone. We were able to go to Misty and Brayden's for a Super Bowl Party that night which seemed to make Mason forget about the family leaving. Thanks Mist it was a blast. It was fun to get caught up again and let the kids play. I can't believe how big our kids are all getting. All and All it was a blessed day! I am so thankful for wonderful family and friends who get to share days like this with!
