Dying...Eggs!

This year was quite fun and challenging dying eggs with the kids. Malarie was so excited, she just couldn't wait until it was time. I found out that I have no skills in the boiling egg department. I actually had to go to the store before it closed(here in our little town everything is closed by 7:00!) to get more eggs. It didn't help that everyone I called that would know how to boil eggs were gone. Half of the eggs cracked and it looked like I was making egg drop soup!
Long story short we did get them boiled and started to dye. It was a lot more hectic then I thought it would be. And to confess the 2 times the dye got spilled it wasn't the kids- the first time it was me and the second was Trav. We're such a pair! Mason didn't exactly know how to be gentle with the eggs. Every time he put an egg in-CRACK! Oh well, I know I am wasteful but I HATE boiled eggs. We have actually already thrown them away...oppps!
(this was spill #2- good job Trav)
This project kept Malarie busy all night. Mason got board. After Trav tried getting him to eat an egg-unsuccessfully- he got put to bed.
We did have a good time and even though sometimes it doesn't feel like going through the hassle is worth it, I know it is. I know that my kids are going to have great memories like I do.
notice all the cracked eggs :)

Halarious! I am laughing out loud at work right now. You are so adorable with your kids. I will send Dylan your way next year. You should be a pro at boiling eggs by then. It was good to see you all on Easter.
