On Sunday night driving home from SLC Trav and I were talking. I told him that I was DONE with Mason's binky. I was sick of him throwing it and crying to have it back. He was being suck a little stinker!
When we got home I was cleaning out the van and Travis went to put the kids down. After I got done I went inside and I could hear Mason crying-he never cries when he goes to bed- So I asked Trav what the deal was. He just said, "I thought you said we were done with the binky."
It wasn't until that point when I realized why he still had it.-Not because He needed it, but because I actually liked it! Yes I had to admit that I liked him having his binky as much as he did! I loved that when he would cry, go to bed, or when we were driving I could give him his binky and he was good as gold.
So here I am. No more binky and I must say it hasn't been too bad. I cut off all the binkies I could find(so I wouldn't be tempted to give it back to him), and left them on the table. The next morning when we woke up he spotted it and tried to put it in his mouth. "Bokin mama," is all that he would say. I took a look at it and said, "yep it is. Put it in the garbage because its broken." And he did!

I have always known the real reason parents give their children binkies...it is for their own sanity. I am not sure how or when I will get Dylan to give his up but I am aiming for it by the time he is two. I have heard of the cutting idea before and am so glad it worked for you. Good luck in the nights ahead!
Ahhhh, he's growing up so fast! I can't believe how big (and I mean BIG! I can't believe he outweighs Mal!! ha ha)he's getting. Cute boy.
Good job mamma! Its so hard, but it sounds like he was ready! Way to go! Be strong!!!
