Malarie had her Gymnastics Meet and Dance recital a few weekends ago and she did awesome. The first thing on Saturday was the Meet. She did two passes and both were level 3. I was so nervous! I felt like I was going to throw up. There were so many people there and she get really shy. I was scared that if she made a mistake she would start crying and get so embarrassed and then she wouldn't do anymore.
I had nothing to worry about! She did so awesome. My mom and Cami and her kids were there along with grandma and grandpa Story came to cheer her on. She loved that she had a little cheering section. I think that was the best part of her day.
At the end of the meet the gave a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place ribbon and then everyone got a metal. I was hoping she would get a ribbon but she was going up against some 1st graders and I was just happy she was going to get a medal. When they got to her category they called out 1st place and then Her name! I completely missed it because I wasn't expecting it. Trav leaned over and told me and I yelled out "Oh my gosh she got 1st place!" Trav was so embarrassed, ha ha I was just really excited! Her best little friend Addi did so good too. They are so cute together and Malarie is always telling me that they are best friends.
That night at her dance recital she did such a good job too! She knew the dance and she performed it so cute! I can't believe that she was so calm. She usually is so nervous, but she was such a little performer.
After the night was over she told me that she liked gymnastics a little more then dance because she got a medal and a ribbon. I thought that was so funny. I think she might end up being a little competitive :) I wonder where she gets that from!
