The Saturday before Easter I took the kids to the Annual Nelson Egg Hunt. It was such a cold day but my kids were excited to go(and I was too, I love Leslie's dirty rice!). Malarie went in flip flops and a skirt with no coat. I could not persuade her to change so she froze, but she wouldn't admit it. Everyone kept commenting on how little clothing she had on and they all probably think think I am the worst mom in the world, but she did learn a lesson.
Because it was so cold they only had half of the people that usually come and I swear they had twice the candy! Malarie filled her basket 4 times and came home with a grocery bag spilling over and her and Mason's baskets at the brim. I have never seen so much candy before! Lunch was good as always, and we can't wait to go back next year!
Saturday night Trav was gone to the Priesthood session and so the kids and I got to color our eggs without him.-I am so sure he was sad about it too...not! I love spending time with my kids and listening to what they have to say. They are so funny. Madi wasn't so sure about the egg thing. She just sat in her high chair and watched the whole thing.
On Easter morning the kids found there baskets. After looking all though them at all there fun little toys and clothes they got an even BIGGER surprise! The bunny brought them a trampoline. The kids were so excited! They had been wanting another one since our blew on our neighbors roof last summer.
After the first session of conference we drove up to Sand to my sisters house for dinner and yet another egg hunt. My sister Chalyse and her family were in town and it was so good to see them. After gorging ourselves on yummy food we set up the egg hunt for the grand kids...in the snow! Even though it was cold outside the kids didn't even notice. They had such a fun time collecting the eggs and other treasures.
We had such a nice Easter. And although I don't know if I liked having conference weekend and Easter weekend being the same weekend, I did love listening to the Prophet and the other leaders of the church. We are so blessed!
